The library ... there are several rooms like this for quiet times and relaxing ... plus a computer room. The hair salon is next door.

§After a one night visit to Phuket in Thailand, we sailed to Langkawi in Malaysia.  This is the Star terminal where we boarded buses for a 30 minute drive to Kuah - the main town.

28

This 12 metre high eagle is Langkawi's main tourist gimmick.
Langkawi's other attractions are beaches and a relaxed life-style.

More of the crew at their training.                       Our cabin is here.

§The only view of the engines we were allowed - via TV!

There were 4 diesels of 20,000 hp each - 2 for propulsion (22 kt max) and 2 for electricity.  The ship is 78,000 ton.

A dull day in Singapore.  After sailing Singapore to Phuket to Langkawi, we sailed back to Singapore.  Most passengers changed while we stayed on for further cruising.

39

The Star Cruises terminal at Port Klang ... south of Kuala Lumpur

40

Our shore excursion in KL was a s-l-o-w bus ride through thick traffic to a huge shopping mall.

41

§A big attraction was a pet shop - ~ A$1,500 for a puppy, A$700 for a kitten ….. Plus this selection of lizards!

42

Gold & jewellery were a hot topic.

43

I was tempted by this!   ..... it was free .... but you had to buy a Cat brand watch over AU$200!

44

Back in Singapore for our last day - shopping, a tour of Chinatown and a river cruise
